The Role:
As a Senior Transport Planner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of projects and contributing to our consultancy’s success. Working alongside a talented team of planners and engineers, you will lead the delivery of transport planning projects, develop innovative solutions, and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of transport assessments, travel plans, and feasibility studies for a variety of developments.
- Provide technical guidance and strategic input on transportation planning and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met.
- Conduct data analysis, traffic modeling, and forecasting to support project delivery.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality written reports and presentations.
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.
- Stay updated with industry trends and contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and client relationship management.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field.
- Significant experience in transport planning, preferably in a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in transport modeling and analysis software such as Junctions, LINSIG, or TRICS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- A thorough understanding of relevant planning policies, guidance, and standards.
- Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIHT, TPS).
