We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Transport Planner to join our expanding team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of private sector development projects, contributing to the planning and delivery of transportation strategies that support our clients' growth ambitions. You will play a key role in shaping projects, mentoring junior team members, and driving innovation in transport planning.
You will be working with a growing consultancy specializing in Transport Planning, providing high-quality services to private sector clients. Our projects focus on innovative, sustainable, and practical solutions for development planning. With a collaborative and dynamic team, we deliver impactful outcomes for a diverse range of clients, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage transport planning projects, ensuring high-quality delivery within agreed timescales and budgets.
- Develop and prepare transport assessments, travel plans, and feasibility studies.
- Provide expert advice on transport-related issues, including accessibility, traffic impact, and sustainable transport solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.
- Undertake data analysis, traffic modeling, and forecasting to support project recommendations.
- Contribute to business development activities, including preparing proposals and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Mentor and support junior staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transport planning, preferably within the private sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of transport assessments, travel plans, and transport modeling.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as TRICS, Junctions (PICADY/ARCADY), and LINSIG.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for innovation in transport planning.
- Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIHT, ICE, TPS).
