Our client is a leading construction firm renowned for its expertise in educational facilities. Due to their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team.
Job Description:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering school projects from inception through to completion. You will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects within a supportive and forward-thinking company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, perform cost analysis, and ensure financial efficiency.
- Tendering: Oversee the tendering process, including the preparation and evaluation of tenders.
- Contract Administration: Administer contracts, manage variations, and ensure compliance with contract conditions.
- Valuations: Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and prepare accurate interim valuations and final accounts.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports, forecasts, and progress updates for senior management and clients.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to maintain strong working relationships and ensure project requirements are met.
- Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior surveyors, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong background in school or educational projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement processes.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools (e.g., CostX, MS Project, Excel).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
