Our client, a highly respected specialist in bricklaying, is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. With a reputation for delivering high-quality brickwork on time and within budget, they are looking for a professional who shares their commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial success of our client’s projects. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects, from initial estimate to final account. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and rewarding projects within the bricklaying sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Prepare detailed cost estimates and manage budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contract Administration: Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts and sub-contracts to ensure compliance with legal and project requirements.
- Financial Reporting: Produce accurate and timely financial reports, including cost forecasts, valuations, and cash flow projections.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to project costs and contracts.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Value Engineering: Identify opportunities to reduce costs and enhance value while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve any contractual or financial disputes promptly and effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry, with a focus on bricklaying or masonry projects.
- Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with quantity surveying software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel).
- Certifications: Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is preferred.
