Role Overview:
A Senior Ecologist is sought to join the Bristol office. The role will offer a diverse mix of office-based tasks and fieldwork, including ecological assessments, surveys, and report writing. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to mentor junior staff and contribute to project management across multiple sectors. Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting and overseeing ecological surveys, assessments, and reports.
- Managing projects and liaising with clients and stakeholders.
- Mentoring and supporting junior staff in their professional development
- Ensuring compliance with relevant ecological and environmental regulations.
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Attending site visits and undertaking fieldwork as necessary.
- Providing advice and recommendations to clients on ecological matters.
Qualifications and Experience Needed:
- A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Full membership of CIEEM or working towards it.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in an ecological consultancy or similar role
- Experience in conducting ecological surveys and assessments, particularly for residential, infrastructure, and commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of UK ecological and environmental legislation.
- Proven ability to manage projects and communicate effectively with clients.Strong fieldwork skills with a good understanding of practical ecology.
- Full driving license.
