Do you have what it takes to transform society? Our client is looking for a talented and motivated Senior Engineer to join their Civil Structures team in Edinburgh. This flexible role requires a minimum of three days in the office per week.

As a Senior Engineer in the Civil Structures team, you will play a vital role in delivering bridges and ancillary civil structures projects. Acting as the Lead Design Engineer, you will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to create optimal design solutions and support project delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading design efforts and checking technical outputs, such as calculations, drawings, sketches, and reports.
- Providing technical guidance, support, and mentoring to colleagues, helping to develop team members.
- Supporting the Project Manager with project briefs, deliverables, milestones, and quality assurance.
- Managing project governance, ensuring compliance with quality, time, and cost requirements.
- Assessing and documenting design changes, communicating them effectively to the Project Manager.
- Reviewing completed projects to implement technical and process improvements.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience in structures design, with a strong background in bridges and ancillary civil structures.
- Expertise in Eurocodes and DMRB design standards.Proficiency with structural design and analysis software such as STRAP, Autodesk Bridge Design, or LUSAS.
- Experience in project governance and delivering successful design solutions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
- Chartered Membership of ICE or IStructE, or near completion of your IPD towards chartership.
- A full UK driving licence.
