The company is a dynamic and growing consultancy based in Bedford, specializing in acoustic services for a diverse range of infrastructure projects. With a team of around 30, they work on both large-scale developments and smaller, more specialized projects. The majority of the team operates within the acoustics division, ensuring a supportive and collaborative work environment. Their project portfolio spans regional sites primarily in the London and Cambridgeshire areas, offering a varied and engaging workload.
The Senior Acoustic Consultant will play a key role in delivering high-quality acoustic assessments and solutions for both large infrastructure projects and smaller-scale ventures. The individual in this role will be responsible for managing their own projects, engaging directly with clients, and providing technical expertise across a variety of sectors. The role offers excellent opportunities for career progression, with a supportive team and the flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. Travel to project sites within the regional area will be required, and the consultant will be expected to take ownership of both the technical and client-facing aspects of their work.
Lead and manage acoustic assessments for infrastructure and development projectsProvide advice on noise control, sound insulation, and vibration managementEngage with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutionsManage projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality and compliance with regulationsWork collaboratively with other consultants, contractors, and stakeholdersTravel to sites across the London and Cambridgeshire regionsProvide mentoring and guidance to junior team members
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Acoustics, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in acoustic consulting, preferably with experience in infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of noise and vibration control, as well as relevant legislation and regulations
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong client-facing communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel for site visitsChartered status (or working towards) with the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) is desirable
