A leading specialist contractor in Thermal Insulation, Trace Heating, Fire Protection, and Acoustic Insulation, operating within the process, heating, and ventilation industry. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across various sectors, they are now looking to expand their commercial team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with mechanical experience to join an established and growing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs, contracts, and valuations across a range of mechanical insulation and fire protection projects.
All levels of experience will be considered, from Junior to Senior QS, with tailored training and career progression opportunities available.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and manage cost estimates, valuations, and budgetsConduct measurement, cost control, and cost reportingOversee subcontractor accounts, variations, and final accountsAssist in contract negotiations and tendering processesWork closely with project teams to ensure financial efficiencyEnsure compliance with contractual terms and conditionsPrepare monthly cost reports and forecasts for senior management
Requirements
- Experience in Quantity Surveying, ideally within mechanical services
- Knowledge of Thermal Insulation, Fire Protection, Trace Heating, and Acoustic Insulation is advantageous but not essential if you have mechancial knowledge.This is a transferrable skill.
- Understanding of cost management, BOQs, and contract administration
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Proficiency in relevant software (Excel, CostX, or similar)
- Full UK driving license (preferred)
