Our client is a leading company in the renewable energy and utilities sector, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for a range of high-profile projects. With a focus on clean energy and infrastructure development, they have established themselves as industry pioneers committed to excellence and environmental stewardship. Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team.
The Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the financial and commercial aspects of exciting renewable energy and utility infrastructure projects. This position requires a confident and proactive individual who is comfortable working within a fast-paced environment, overseeing budgets, contracts, and procurement activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for renewable energy and utilities projects.
- Manage contract negotiations, procurement processes, and project risk assessments.
- Oversee valuations, progress reports, and final account settlements.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to monitor project costs and progress.
- Identify and resolve any project-related financial risks and opportunities.
- Ensure all work complies with legal and contractual standards and regulations.
- Support project managers in ensuring financial control and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience working on renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects is essential.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (NEC, JCT, etc.) and commercial management.
- Proficiency in cost control software and MS Office.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project-driven environment.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (RICS, CIOB) is desirable but not essential.
