Job Summary:
As a QA/QC Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing and executing quality assurance and control processes for the power plant project. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all installation, testing, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with site teams, clients, and contractors to maintain exceptional quality throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance/Control:
- Develop and implement the Quality Management Plan (QMP) for the power plant project.
- Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and control system installations meet project specifications, industry standards (ISO, IEC), and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with Instrotec's internal quality procedures and guidelines.
Inspection & Testing:
- Perform regular inspections of electrical and mechanical systems, including cables, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Oversee testing protocols, including FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), and commissioning tests.
- Ensure all inspection and test results meet the required standards and specifications.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain accurate QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, test results, and NCR (Non-Conformance Report) records.
- Provide detailed and regular quality reports to the Project Manager and Senior QA/QC Manager.
- Assist in preparing handover documentation, such as as-built drawings, quality records, and certification for the client.
Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions:
- Identify non-conformances in workmanship, materials, or procedures, and initiate corrective actions.
- Follow up and resolve all NCRs and implement corrective and preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure a shared commitment to quality standards.
- Act as the main point of contact for all quality-related issues on-site.
- Provide input during project meetings, focusing on quality improvements and risk mitigation.
Training & Support:
- Support and train site personnel and subcontractors in adhering to QA/QC policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure that all teams are equipped with the knowledge and tools to meet project quality objectives.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical quality control procedures, particularly in energy and power plant projects.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify defects and potential quality issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for reporting and liaising with various stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex quality issues and recommend effective corrective actions.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and non-conformances.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
- 3+ years of experience in a QA/QC role, ideally within power plant, energy, or large-scale industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and other relevant quality regulations.
- Proficiency in QA/QC processes including inspection, testing, and commissioning procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with QA/QC software and tools.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, as well as control and instrumentation equipment.
- Preferably experience working on power plant projects, especially in electrical and instrumentation installations.
- Preferably experience with large-scale industrial or energy-related projects.
