This exciting opportunity is perfect for engineers looking to advance their careers by joining a successful and established team. You will work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry on a wide portfolio of marine, coastal, and inland waterway projects across the UK. The role involves designing marine structures such as quay walls, jetties, dolphins, slipways, berthing, and mooring systems. You will also provide technical and professional guidance to junior engineers, collaborate with team members and external clients on technical matters, and write detailed technical reports. This position offers a dynamic and collaborative environment, ideal for those passionate about engineering innovation and will be based out of either Manchester, Glasgow or Ashford offices.

The successful candidate must:

  • Chartered or near-chartered engineer, with a strong commitment to pursuing professional qualifications.

 

  • Demonstrable experience or aptitude in designing marine structures

 

  • Proficiency in FE modelling software such as STAAD Pro, LUSAS, or SAP 2000.

 

  • Strong knowledge of buildability and maritime design standards (e.g., BS6349, PIANC).

Desired:

  • Expertise in designing lock gates, heavy-duty pavements, breakwaters, or linkspas.

 

  • Coastal engineering design and assessment experience.

 

  • Knowledge of marine geotechnics and temporary works design

 

  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as Optimoor, Wallap, and Plaxis

 

  • MEng in Civil Engineering (minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent).
