They are expanding our team and looking for a skilled Estimator to join us in driving our continued success.
Job Description:
Our client are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for both residential and commercial projects across Ireland. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, cost management, and market conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects.
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project scope and requirements.
- Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor and update estimates as project scopes change.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market prices, trends, and construction techniques.
- Provide risk assessments and advise on potential cost impacts.
- Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and proposals.
- Maintain detailed records of all estimates and project documentation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on residential and commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and costs in the Irish market.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, Buildsoft, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Relevant qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field.
- Full clean driving license and willingness to travel as required.
