Our client, a renowned leader in delivering complex construction and engineering projects, is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager/Lead to oversee the electrical package on a significant Data Centre project in Cambridge. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to manage a critical aspect of a cutting-edge project, ensuring that all electrical systems are designed, installed, and commissioned to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Package Management: Lead and manage the full electrical package, covering both High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems, ensuring all work is completed to specification, on time, and within budget.
  • Infrastructure Development: Oversee the development and implementation of electrical infrastructure, ensuring it meets the demands of a high-performance data centre environment.
  • Health & Safety Adherence: Champion health and safety standards on site, ensuring all electrical works comply with relevant regulations and best practices. Conduct regular safety audits and ensure all team members are trained and aware of safety protocols.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with other project teams, including mechanical, structural, and civil engineering, to ensure seamless integration of all systems. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Project Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to the senior management team, outlining project progress, potential risks, and mitigation strategies. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accurate.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical project management, ideally within the data centre sector or industrial construction with transferable skills.
  • Proven expertise in managing both HV and LV systems, with a deep understanding of the challenges and requirements of large-scale electrical installations.
  • A degree in Project Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is essential.
  • Membership in a recognised professional organisation (e.g., APM, PMI, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team and engage effectively with all stakeholders.
  • A thorough understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction industry, particularly in relation to electrical systems.

If you are a driven Electrical Project Manager/Lead with a track record of delivering successful projects, particularly in data centres or similar environments, we encourage you to apply.
