We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team, contributing to the successful design, development, and implementation of data centre projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems within mission-critical environments and an ability to work closely with clients to ensure project success. The ideal candidate will have a background in data centres or similar fields such as Oil & Gas or other mission-critical environments, and a keen understanding of local regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Liaison:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their requirements and expectations are clearly understood and met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate effective communication between clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to maintain a transparent and collaborative relationship.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients, helping them make informed decisions on electrical design and implementation.
Design and Engineering:
- Develop and review detailed electrical designs for data centre projects, including power distribution, lighting, and backup systems.
- Ensure designs comply with local legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems seamlessly with other MEP components.
Project Execution:
- Participate in site-based activities, including overseeing installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Monitor and inspect work to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and address any issues or discrepancies during the construction phase, providing timely solutions to keep projects on track.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with French regulations and safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to mitigate potential hazards associated with electrical systems.
- Stay updated on changes in local legislation and industry advancements to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for all phases of electrical projects, including design specifications, reports, and as-built drawings.
- Provide regular progress reports to clients and internal teams, highlighting key milestones and any issues encountered.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in electrical design and project execution.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing activities and professional development to stay at the forefront of industry trends and technologies.
- Contribute to the development of company standards and practices to enhance the quality and efficiency of future projects.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is advantageous.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on data centres or similar mission-critical environments such as Oil & Gas.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and managing electrical systems for large-scale projects.
Skills:
- Proficiency in using electrical design software and tools.
- Strong understanding of local legislation and regulatory requirements for electrical systems in France.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in both French and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
