We are seeking a talented Cost Manager to join our client’s dynamic team. A successful candidate will play a crucial role in post-contract cost management activities, including cash flow management, reporting, and team leadership. This role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and projects on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Post-Contract Management:
- Manage all aspects of post-contract cost management, including cost reporting, valuations, and final accounts.
- Monitor project cash flows and provide accurate financial forecasting to support project planning and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions related to cost management.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports on a regular basis, highlighting project costs, variances, and forecasts.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to analyse financial data and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of cost engineers or quantity surveyors, providing guidance and support to ensure project objectives are met.
- Foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement and professional development.
Client Liaison:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on cost management issues, building strong relationships based on trust and transparency.
- Address client queries and concerns promptly, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
Requirements:
- Language Skills: Fluent in German and English, with exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Professional Background:
- Background in consultancy, with experience in quantity surveying or cost engineering.
- Experience in managing costs for large-scale projects, preferably in the construction or infrastructure sectors.
Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of post-contract cost management processes, including cost reporting and financial forecasting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Leadership Skills:
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
