As a small but growing team, they are committed to delivering high-quality ecological solutions that balance development needs with environmental sustainability. The company values collaboration, innovation, and the professional growth of its team members, creating a supportive and flexible work environment that allows staff to thrive in their careers while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

The company is seeking a highly motivated Senior or Principal Ecologist to join the team as a consultant. This is a unique opportunity to be an early addition to a growing team, where the successful candidate will have the chance to influence company decisions and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the company's ecological services. The role is home and site-based, with no office visits required, and approximately two days per week will be spent on-site. While the ideal candidate will be located in the Midlands or South of the UK, candidates from other regions are also welcome, provided they are willing to travel as needed. The role will primarily involve overseeing ecological assessments, managing projects, and providing expert advice to ensure that clients' projects comply with relevant environmental regulations and standards.

Desired :
- Proven experience as a Senior or Principal Ecologist, with a strong background in industrial, commercial, or residential projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead ecological assessments and manage projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, environmental impact assessments, and mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Willingness to travel for on-site work, with flexibility regarding location within the UK.
- Professional memberships (e.g., CIEEM) and relevant licenses (e.g., bat, great crested newt) are highly desirable.

The company offers a competitive salary, standard pension scheme, private healthcare, and 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, with an additional day of holiday added every two years, up to a maximum of 15 years. This is a fantastic opportunity to establish oneself in a growing team, with the potential for career advancement as the company expands. Ecologists with a passion for making a real impact are encouraged to apply.

To apply, candidates should submit a CV. The company looks forward to hearing from applicants!
