**Job Description: Ecologist / Senior Ecologist**

A small and friendly multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an Ecologist or Senior Ecologist to join its growing team. The company works on a diverse range of projects, from small-scale residential developments to large-scale projects, and operates as a home-based business with no physical office. Travel is only required for site work, with most sites located across the South of England. The company also takes on projects further afield, using subconsultants to reduce the travel burden for in-house staff. With plans to expand the ecology team, this role offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in the early stages of growth.

The role will involve managing ecological surveys, liaising with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, and delivering high-quality consultancy services. The successful candidate will be responsible for project management, communication with clients, and helping to grow the portfolio through business development. The position requires the ability to work independently as it is home-based, while also being part of a supportive and collaborative team with a strong, friendly culture.

**Key Qualifications and Skills:**
- Consultancy experience in an Ecologist or Senior Ecologist role.
- A bat license (or actively working towards one with at least one reference).
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
- Proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel for site visits across the South of England (and occasionally further afield).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
- Experience or interest in helping to grow a business portfolio by winning new work.

**Benefits:**
The company offers highly competitive salaries compared to many other environmental consultancies. Benefits include private healthcare, paid travel expenses, and the flexibility of a home-based working arrangement. The team fosters a non-corporate, friendly environment, with regular social events throughout the year. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and play a key role in shaping its future direction.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for this exciting opportunity!
