Our client is a well recognised commisisoning specialist in the Data Centre market. You'll work on high value data centres accross Europe working directly with end-clients. Our client has a pipeline of projects for the next 5+ years, allowing you to travel mainland Europe and work on a range of Data Centres. Our client has an extremely strong retention rate, with employees and contractors choosing to renew after each project.
This position is an intial 12 month contract, however with a strong pipeline over the next 5 years, a succesful canidate will grow and take advantage of the companies progression opportunities! Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning Oversight: Manage the mechanical commissioning process from pre-functional testing to final handover.
- System Validation: Ensure proper testing and verification of HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, and water treatment systems.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with the client, design teams, and contractors to deliver a fully commissioned and compliant mechanical system.
- Testing & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any mechanical system performance issues, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Adhere to industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, CIBSE, Uptime Institute) and ensure all commissioning activities meet regulatory requirements.
- Handover & Documentation: Maintain detailed commissioning reports, O&M manuals, and system performance data for project handover.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all commissioning work is carried out following HSE standards and risk assessments.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years in mechanical commissioning within data centres.
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in HVAC, chilled water systems, DX cooling, VRF/VRV, fire suppression, and BMS controls.
- Regulatory Compliance: Strong understanding of European mechanical standards and commissioning procedures.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement solutions.
- Communication: Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly report on commissioning progress.
- Education: Degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
- Certifications: Relevant commissioning and safety certifications (e.g., LEED AP, SMSTS, NEBOSH, CxA, or equivalent) are desirable.
