ATG are seeking a diligent and experienced Clerk of Works to oversee construction activities on a project located on the island of Inisheer. The successful candidate will ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standards, in compliance with project specifications, building regulations, and safety protocols. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote location.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with design specifications, standards, and project plans.
- Conduct regular inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction methods.
- Ensure adherence to building regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
- Prepare detailed reports on work progress, defects, and any deviations from the project scope.
- Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, architects, and project managers to address issues promptly.
- Verify that materials and equipment used are of the specified quality and meet project requirements.
- Assist in the resolution of technical queries and provide guidance on-site as needed.
- Keep accurate records of site activities, including weather conditions, manpower, and project milestones.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in construction, engineering, or a related field (e.g., HNC/HND, degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management).
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally including remote or island-based projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building regulations in Ireland.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to the challenges of a remote location.
- Proficiency in using reporting tools and software for documentation.
- Full clean driving license and flexibility to reside on or travel frequently to Inisheer for the project duration.
