Are you a BIM expert ready to take on challenging, high-tech data centre projects? Our client, a pioneering force in the digital construction landscape, is seeking a driven and meticulous BIM Modeler to join their team, contributing to innovative data centre builds in two of Europe’s most dynamic cities: Oslo and Porto. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working with cutting-edge technology, and are passionate about revolutionising the future of data storage, this could be the perfect role for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- 3D BIM Modelling & Coordination: Create, manage, and update detailed 3D models of data centre infrastructure, including structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems. You will ensure seamless integration across these disciplines, collaborating with engineers, architects, and contractors to align every aspect of the design?.
- Clash Detection & Management: Identify and resolve potential clashes between different systems using state-of-the-art BIM software such as Autodesk Navisworks, Revit, and Tekla. Proactively solve issues before they arise on-site, ensuring smooth construction workflows and minimising costly delays?.
- Data Centre Design Expertise: Bring your specialised knowledge of data centre design to bear on key aspects of project delivery, including space optimisation, energy efficiency, and system redundancy. You'll contribute to ensuring these facilities are scalable, sustainable, and future-proof?.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across multiple disciplines to ensure coordination and alignment. Your role will involve leading coordination meetings, interpreting clash detection reports, and ensuring that all team members have access to up-to-date model information.
- BIM Process Implementation: Drive the implementation of BIM best practices, ensuring the project adheres to the highest industry standards. You'll oversee the integration of models from various disciplines into a unified digital workflow, ensuring continuous improvement and update of project documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education & Certification: A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Candidates with equivalent professional experience and BIM-related certifications will also be considered.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and Tekla is essential. You should also be comfortable working with other industry-standard tools for clash detection.
- Experience in Data Centre Projects: Prior experience working on data centre projects is highly desirable. You should have a deep understanding of the unique requirements of these facilities, including energy optimisation, cooling systems, spatial coordination, and maintenance access.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to resolve complex design conflicts through collaboration, innovative thinking, and detailed analysis. Experience with clash prioritisation and iterative problem-solving in a high-pressure environment is key?.
- Attention to Detail & Communication: Excellent attention to detail in model accuracy and clarity, coupled with strong communication skills to effectively report and resolve issues in a team environment?.
