Access have partnered with a European Engineering consultancy who are, after several high-profile contract awards, looking to rapidly grow their senior Geotechnical and Engineering Geology team. Our client is over 2000 people strong, working across Europe, the UK and North America covering infrastructure, offshore energy and heavy civil engineering. Senior staff are the focus now, hence their desire to add an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to their team.
As a Principal/Associate Geotech Engineer you will be expected to line manage and mentor more junior members of the team, contributing significantly to the technical betterment of your peers, and taking a lead on exclusive, new and exciting projects. Because of our client’s multi-discipline and sector coverage, the ideal candidate will be competent and experienced in handling multiple deliverables and client relationships simultaneously – this is the PERFECT role for Engineers who want to grow their portfolio and project diversity. Your design experience will be key, leaning on it to execute projects to the highest level, while also bidding for new work.
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:
- Around 8-15 years of experience
- Achieved Chartered Engineer status
- Be based in Leeds or Dublin based. London based is also a possibility
- Experience of being a geotechnical discipline lead or team lead for a small to middle sized project (3-6 people)
- Ability to identify objectives, direct team members and motivate them to achieve collective goals
The following technical skills/experience are preferred, ticking the more boxes the better:
- Piles in Chalk and Glacial Till
- Offshore design, preferably windfarm and port
- Foundation design
- Linear transportation (railway, highway) sector experience
- Embankments and cuttingsGround treatment/improvement
A cross-over between engineering geology and geotechnical engineering skills is a bonus, but not essential. As is experience with Hydrogeology or Geoenvironmental projects.
