Access have partnered with a European Engineering consultancy who are, after several high-profile contract awards, looking to rapidly grow their senior Geotechnical and Engineering Geology team. Our client is over 2000 people strong, working across Europe, the UK and North America covering infrastructure, offshore energy and heavy civil engineering. Senior staff are the focus now, hence their desire to add an Associate Engineering Geologist to their team.

As a Principal/Associate engineering Geologist, you will be expected to line manage and mentor more junior members of the team, contributing significantly to the technical betterment of your peers, and taking a lead on exclusive, new and exciting projects. Because of our client’s multi-discipline and sector coverage, the ideal candidate will be competent and experienced in handling multiple deliverables and client relationships simultaneously – this is the PERFECT role for Engineers who want to grow their portfolio and project diversity.

 

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • Achieved Chartered Geologist or similar equivalent qualification from a relevant professional body
     
  • Right to work in the UK
     
  • Experience in scoping and specification of ground investigations; interpretation of ground
     
  • investigation results and characterisation of the ground
     
  • Experience and capability in ground modelling and data management/manipulation for major schemes
     
  • Proficient in GIS based ground modelling software packages (e.g., Openground, Leapfrog, QGIS) 
     
  • Experience of engineering geological and geohazard investigations, civil engineering ground investigations and characterization.

 

The following technical skills/experience are preferred, ticking the more boxes the better:

  1. linear infrastructure (highways & rails) projects in UK
  2. Ground investigation experience in Chalk and Glacial Till
  3. Offshore design, preferably windfarm and port
  4. Cross-over between engineering geology and geotechnical engineering skills is a bonus, but not essential
  5. Geo-environment skill is a bonus, but not essentialHydro-geology skill is a bonus, but not essentialInternational project experience is a bonus, but not essential
